Gangnam Ice Opens Tomorrow

 

Those who love music and dance can now get to see their favorite artists perform in Gangnam Ice, which opens in Seoul tomorrow. Featuring artists such as PSY, HyunA, and Magnum, this year's festival will be filled with some of the best music acts in the world. It's going to be a party for the ages!

PSY's Gangnam Style

The video of South Korean pop star PSY's Gangnam Style has been viewed over 2.6 billion times on YouTube. It's also the most popular video on the site.

Psy's song combines music and humor. The slapstick video, which features a horse riding dance by PSY, mocks pretensions of the Gangnam neighborhood in Seoul.

"Gangnam Style" has been credited with boosting tourism in Korea. When the music video hit the internet in 2012, it hijacked the airwaves and became a global sensation.

After it was released, "강남아이스 Style" went on to become the first video on YouTube to pass the one billion view mark. Other YouTube uploads that have crossed the billion view mark include "Sorry" by Justin Bieber, "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, and "Shake it Off" by Taylor Swift.

In February 2013, PSY performed at the inauguration of South Korean President Park Geun-Hye. At the time, Korean artists had not yet achieved household name status. He also served as de facto cultural ambassador for his country.

HyunA's latest single

Kim Hyun-a, better known as HyunA, is a Korean singer and rapper. She was a member of the girl group 4minute, before leaving the group due to health issues. Since then, HyunA has made a name for herself as a provocateur, and she is considered one of the top female artists in K-pop.

HyunA's "Ice Cream" video is a metaphor for the girl's entire career. There are plenty of innuendos throughout the music video, from seducing a tattooed man to mowing down a clown with an ice cream truck.

The title track is a hip-hop pop song with an eclectic, sultry sound. It features Psy in a long cameo, and it is likely to be a hit with audiences.

Aside from the sexy music video, there are a lot of colorful references to modern-day Miley Cyrus in the music video. And there's even a reference to "Crazy in Love" from Beyonce.

Magnum pop-up store

Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival

The Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival is one of the best winter festivals in the world. It is held in South Korea and features ice fishing and other winter activities. In 2011, CNN placed the festival in the "7 Wonders of Winter" list.

This event is a family friendly affair that attracts more than a million visitors each year.
